Blobb — Privacy Policy
1. About this policy
This policy explains what information Blobb collects, why, who we share it with, and what you can do about it. It applies to the Blobb mobile app and our related services, and it forms part of our Terms of Service.
We are the personal information controller for your data under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) of the Philippines.
The short version. Blobb creates an account for you on our servers as soon as you start using it, even before you sign in with Apple or Google. Your food diary, weight, and body measurements are stored there so you don't lose them. We use that data to run the app, and we use anonymous group statistics to improve and promote it. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
2. Blobb is not available in Europe
Blobb is not offered to users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, and this policy is not written to satisfy the GDPR or UK GDPR.
3. The account we create for you
When you first start using Blobb, we automatically create an unnamed account on our servers and begin syncing your data to it. This happens before, and independently of, any decision to sign in.
An unnamed account contains no name, email address, phone number, or other contact detail. It holds only what you enter in the app, linked to a randomly generated identifier. We cannot contact you through it, and we cannot connect it to you as a person.
If you later connect Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google, that identity is attached to the same account. From that point the data is linked to an identifier that Apple or Google associates with you, and we receive the details described in Section 4.4.
4. What we collect
4.1 Information you enter
- Your profile: height, current weight, goal weight, date of birth, sex, activity level, dietary goal, calorie and nutrient targets, and eating schedule preferences.
- Your food diary: the foods and quantities you log, when you logged them, and the nutrition totals calculated from them.
- Your weight history: weight entries and their dates.
- Your progress: streaks, achievements, and the state of your Blobb character.
- Meal templates you create, and whether you chose to publish them (see Section 7).
- Anything you send us, such as in-app feedback or a support email.
4.2 Health-related information
Most of what Blobb stores — your weight, body measurements, date of birth, sex, and what you eat — is information about your health and your body. Under the Data Privacy Act, information about a person's health is sensitive personal information and gets stronger protection.
We collect it because it is what the app is for: without it Blobb cannot calculate a target or track progress. We rely on your consent, given when you accept these documents and when you enter the information. You can withdraw that consent by deleting your account (Section 11).
We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not share it with data brokers, insurers, or employers.
4.3 Information collected automatically
- Device and app information: a randomly generated device identifier, your operating system and platform, and the Blobb version you are running.
- Usage analytics: which screens you open, which features you use, how long you spend in the app, and events such as completing onboarding or starting a subscription. These are recorded against your random identifier.
- Error reports: technical details when something fails, so we can fix it.
- Notification token: if you allow notifications, the push token your device is issued, so we can send reminders.
- Consent records: which version of these documents you accepted, when, on which platform and app version. We keep this because we are required to be able to show what you agreed to.
Blobb does not collect your precise location, your contacts, your photo library, your health app data, or an advertising identifier.
4.4 Information from other services
- Apple or Google, if you sign in: a unique identifier for you and, depending on what you allow, your name and email address. With Sign in with Apple you may choose to hide your email, and we will only ever see Apple's relay address.
- RevenueCat, Apple, and Google, if you subscribe: whether you have an active subscription, which plan, when it renews or lapses, and whether a trial has been used. We never receive your card or payment details.
4.5 Your profile photo stays on your device
If you set a profile picture, it is chosen from your photo library and stored only on your device. It is never uploaded to our servers and we never see it. Blobb has no access to the rest of your photo library.
5. How we use your information
- To run Blobb — calculating your targets, storing your diary, and syncing it across your devices.
- To back up your data so it survives a lost or replaced device, if you have connected an account.
- To manage subscriptions, trials, and access to paid features.
- To send you the notifications you have allowed, and to contact you about your account, a subscription, or a change to these documents.
- To understand how Blobb is used so we can fix problems and improve it.
- To keep Blobb secure, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms.
- To comply with the law and to establish or defend legal claims.
We do not use your information to make any decision that produces a legal or similarly significant effect on you, and we do not use it for advertising.
6. Anonymous group statistics
We produce statistics that describe groups of users rather than individuals — for example the average weight change across everyone using Blobb, how many meals are logged in a month, or which foods are logged most often. We may publish and use these for research, marketing, and improving Blobb.
These statistics are stripped of anything identifying, describe groups and never a person, and we do not attempt to reverse them. Nothing we publish will identify you.
7. What other people can see
Your food diary, weight, profile, and statistics are private. No other Blobb user can see them.
The one exception is publishing a meal template, which is always your choice. A published template — its name, and the foods and quantities in it — becomes visible and searchable to every Blobb user. Your name is not shown alongside it, but please do not put personal details into a template you publish. You can ask us to unpublish one by emailing us.
8. Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers we need to run Blobb, each of which processes it on our instructions and for no purpose of its own:
- Supabase — hosts our database and handles sign-in. Your account, diary, weight history, and progress are stored here.
- PostHog — usage analytics.
- Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging) — delivers push notifications.
- RevenueCat — manages subscription status.
- Apple and Google — process payments and, if you use them, sign-in. They act as independent controllers of the data they hold about you, under their own privacy policies.
- Our recipe parsing service — if you build a template from pasted recipe text, that text is sent to our own processing service to extract the ingredients. It is used only to return the result and is not linked to your profile.
We may also disclose information if we are legally required to, if we need to in order to establish or defend a legal claim, or to protect someone's safety. If Blobb is ever sold or transferred, your information may pass to the buyer, who would remain bound by this policy or give you notice of any change.
9. Where your information is stored
Our providers store and process data on servers outside the Philippines, including in the United States. When we transfer your information abroad, we remain accountable for it under the Data Privacy Act, and we use providers that commit contractually to protect it to a comparable standard. By using Blobb you understand your information will be processed outside the Philippines.
10. How long we keep it
- Account and diary data: for as long as your account exists. If you delete it, we delete this data (see Section 11).
- Unnamed accounts with no activity: we may delete these after a period of inactivity, since we have no way to return the data to you.
- Published templates: these may remain available after your account is deleted, because other users may have saved them. They carry no identifying information.
- Consent records: kept for as long as needed to show what you agreed to, and to meet legal record-keeping obligations.
- Analytics and error reports: kept in a form not tied to your name, and deleted or aggregated on a rolling basis.
- Records we must keep by law, such as tax records relating to a subscription, for the period the law requires.
11. Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account from within Blobb, in Settings. Doing so permanently removes your profile, food diary, weight history, and progress from our servers. This cannot be undone.
You can also email ari.pang07@gmail.com and we will do it for you. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription — cancel that through the App Store or Google Play first, as explained in our Terms.
Some information survives deletion: anonymous group statistics that no longer identify you, published templates, consent records, and anything we must keep by law.
12. Your rights under the Data Privacy Act
As a data subject under Republic Act No. 10173, you have the right to:
- Be informed about how your personal information is processed — which is what this policy is for.
- Access the information we hold about you, and how it has been processed.
- Correct anything inaccurate. Most of it you can edit yourself in the app.
- Object to processing, and to withdraw consent.
- Erasure or blocking of your information where the grounds under the Act apply.
- Data portability — to obtain a copy of your data in a commonly used electronic format.
- Damages for a violation of your rights under the Act.
- Complain to the National Privacy Commission.
To exercise any of these, email ari.pang07@gmail.com. We will respond within a reasonable period and in any case within the time the law requires. We may need to verify who you are first — and if your account is unnamed, we may be unable to identify your data at all, in which case we will tell you.
You may complain to the National Privacy Commission, 5th Floor, Delegation Building, PICC Complex, Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City 1307, Philippines — privacy.gov.ph.
13. Security
We protect your information with measures appropriate to its sensitivity, including encryption in transit, database access rules that restrict each account to its own records, authentication handled by Apple and Google rather than by passwords we store, and payment details we never receive or hold.
No service can promise perfect security, and we cannot guarantee that our systems will never be compromised. Please keep the Apple or Google account you sign in with secure. If we become aware of a breach affecting your sensitive personal information, we will notify you and the National Privacy Commission as the Data Privacy Act requires.
14. Children
Blobb is for people aged 13 and over, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
If you are between 13 and 17, you may use Blobb only with your parent or guardian's permission, and your parent or guardian must have read this policy and consented to our processing of your information — including the health-related information described in Section 4.2. Their rights under the Data Privacy Act may be exercised on your behalf by them.
If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the version date above and make the new version available in the app and at this address. If a change is material we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. We keep a record of which version you accepted.

Email us with any question about this policy, to exercise a right under Section 12, or to raise a concern. We would rather hear from you first than have you go to the Commission, but Section 12 explains that route too.
